Year 7 Explore Science in the Real World

3rd March 2026

On Tuesday, 2nd March, our Year 7 scientists traded their lab coats for field hats as they embarked on an exciting educational trip to the Limuru Apollo Science Park in Kiambu County. The visit offered a unique opportunity for students to experience science beyond the classroom, turning the park into a 'living laboratory' where learning came to life. Throughout the day, students explored how traditional agricultural practices, historical engineering methods and modern physical sciences all connect in the real world.

A highlight of the visit was the energetic session in the Out-of-Class Science Lab. Here, pupils watched and participated in a series of dramatic demonstrations involving explosive reactions and powerful forces. These experiments helped bring key scientific concepts to life, allowing pupils to see chemical reactions and physical principles in action.

The day concluded with a guided walk through the animal farm, where pupils observed livestock management and discussed the biological needs of domesticated animals. The excursion was a fantastic reminder that science is not limited to a textbook or laboratory, it can be discovered in the soil we farm, the tools we design and the animals we care for.
