Year 7 visit the Kenya Meteorology Department

In the first week of November, Year 7 pupils visited the Kenya Meteorological Department on Ngong Road, Nairobi. The purpose of this visit was to put into practice all they had been learning in Geography about weather and climate. The pupils enjoyed the outdoor experience, were able to observe the weather and establish how weather data is generated and recorded in Kenya.
The trip also provoked thoughts, questions and discussions surrounding climate change and its impact on current weather conditions. This is especially important because at Braeburn we encourage pupils to reflect on how the knowledge gained in class is applied in the world, thereafter, how they can play a part in creating solutions for global problems.
