6th July 2026
On Wednesday morning, Mr Ogonji-Bricknell and I enjoyed a welcome pause in the final week of term as we spent time with some of our Year 9 Scholars.
With it being a non-uniform day, the relaxed atmosphere provided the perfect opportunity to gather over hot chocolate and snacks, reflect on the year that has been, and simply enjoy one another's company. It quickly became apparent why these young people have been recognised as scholars. Their curiosity, humility, thoughtfulness and genuine enthusiasm for learning shone through every conversation, reminding us of the many ways they enrich life at Braeburn School.
It was particularly encouraging to hear them speak so positively about their experiences this year and to know that they feel challenged academically, supported pastorally and genuinely valued by their teachers. Listening to their reflections reinforced just how important strong relationships are in helping every young person flourish.
The morning also served as a timely reminder of the value of creating space to pause, check in and reflect. In the busyness of school life, these moments matter. They allow us to celebrate progress, listen carefully to one another and look ahead with confidence and optimism.
Thank you to our Year 9 Scholars for your honesty, your insight and your wonderful company. We are incredibly proud of all that you have achieved this year and look forward to seeing you continue to grow in Year 10.
