6th June 2026
On 4th June 2026, we held our Year 9 Parent–Teacher Conference (PTC) from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. The evening focused on how students are settling into their new IGCSE and BTEC subject pathways, as they continue to navigate the important transition into Key Stage 4.
The conference provided a valuable opportunity for meaningful conversations between parents and teachers, centred on student engagement, attitude to learning, organisation, and emerging academic progress. Staff shared detailed feedback for each learner, highlighting strengths as well as areas where further support will help them build stronger foundations for success.
It has been encouraging to see many students beginning to settle well into their new subjects. A number are already showing positive signs of curiosity, growing confidence, and increasing independence in their learning. Across the curriculum, there are clear moments of engagement and early academic promise as students begin to adapt to the expectations of IGCSE and BTEC Options.
At the same time, the conference allowed for constructive conversations around areas where further support is needed. For some learners, the transition is still ongoing, particularly in developing consistent study habits, effective time management, and stronger organisational skills. Parents and teachers worked closely to agree on practical strategies to support these students moving forward.
The discussions were open, focused, and centred on ensuring that every learner is given the best possible chance to succeed in their IGCSE and BTEC courses. The strong engagement from parents was greatly appreciated and reflects a shared commitment to student progress.
